VIDEO: Shaletta Porterfield talks about resigning as Miss Wisconsin USA 2011

Just a few months ago I interviewed Shaletta Porterfield, then Miss Wisconsin USA 2011. On Friday, May 13, 2011, Miss Porterfield resigned her title and the opportunity to compete at the Miss USA 2011 pageant held on June 19th in Las Vegas.

Shaletta's resignation is a result of three felony charges of identity theft. Shaletta granted me a follow up interview to tell her story.

  1. This is too bad…I hope the best for her in the future.  She seems like a lovely young lady that made a mistake, accepted it, made amends and is making the best of it.  Blessings to you…

  2. Shaletta, in an age where our public leaders are prone to deny, deny, deny and then finally face having to admit their mistakes, I find your willingness to be honest and forthright in admitting your mistake refreshing.  In doing this, you are being a role model to all young women:  we all make mistakes, none of us are perfect, but being true to yourself, admitting your mistakes and learning from them will always end up with a better outcome than running from your problems.  I wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors and you will be in my prayers.
