VIDEO: Karolina Jasko – Miss Illinois USA 2018

My name is Karolina Jasko and I am currently a second year student at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I am studying psychology and criminal justice in hopes of becoming a clinical psychologist specializing in family and marital issues. At school, I am a part of Phi Sigma Sigma, which is a sorority that prides themselves on service, sisterhood, academics, and philanthropy. We volunteer at events such as the Chicago Marathon, the Shamrock Shuffle, and also participate in beach cleanups and blood drives.

In 2016, I traveled to Peru for a service trip where I helped build a greenhouse for a family in need. It was an incredible opportunity, and it was very emotional to see what some people experience on a day to day basis. It really opened my eyes and made me realize how much I want to spend my time helping others.

In my free time, I love to spend time outdoors. Hiking and rock climbing are my ways of clearing my mind and enjoying time to myself. I also really enjoy swimming, which I used to do competitively up until my second year of high school. Aside from that, I love to spend time with my family, friends, and my two dogs, Riley and Emmy.

In the year of 2017, I was lucky enough to hold the title of Miss Polonia Illinois USA. This opportunity has helped me grow as a person and become more comfortable and confident in myself. After a rough year of being diagnosed with an early stage of melanoma, I didn’t believe in myself as much as I should have and never thought I would take part in and win a pageant like this so I am thankful for the chance I had to represent the Polish community in Illinois while working on myself.

Winning the Miss Illinois USA pageant has always been a big dream of mine and now that it has become a reality I can’t wait to get started and really make it my year. I hope to call awareness to the issue of domestic violence, and human trafficking. I also cannot wait to promote and fundraise for the Warriors for Ross and The Ross Foundation which helps children and families battling pediatric cancer. I cannot wait to represent Illinois the best way that I can, not only in the Miss USA pageant, but throughout the whole year.

After the interview we still wanted to know more about Karolina and what goes on in her pageant brain, so we got her to fill out thePageantGuy.com’s “Here’s What I’m Thinking” questionnaire :)

REVIEW: Bulletproof Sherri Hill Gown?

This weekend I did my first pageant product review. I decided to review a gown by one of the most popular pageant gown designers, Sherri Hill.

I obtained a Sherri Hill gown (Thank you Kara Hall at Sherri Hill!) and endured it through a series of quality assurance procedures and tests to measure it's reliability under controlled situations. This following video is the documentation of our test results.

WARNING: Do not try this at home. Tests were performed by seasoned pageant professionals and below average snipers.

P.S. Watch the entire video to view a 2nd bonus test 🙂

VIDEO: Sarah Hollins – Miss Nebraska USA 2016

Upon graduating high school in Omaha, Sarah started school at Creighton University and competed in Miss Nebraska Teen USA 2009, bringing home the crown on her first try. After winning she used her scholarship to the New York Film Academy to study broadcast journalism.

Sarah earned a bachelors degree from one of the country's top journalism schools, the Missouri School of Journalism. She has worked as a reporter for an NPR affiliate station, a producer and anchor for KOMU in Columbia, Missouri, and even hosted her own sports show online covering SEC sports.

She took a break from television and worked in Public Relations and Government Affairs for an aerospace company where she worked closely with members of Congress on aerospace initiatives.

She found herself back in her comfort zone in front of the camera hosting a trivia game show. She also runs her own business as a freelance publicist for small businesses and teaches fitness classes.

VIDEO: Abby Floyd – Miss Arkansas USA 2016

Abby Floyd was born and raised in Searcy, Arkansas and began modeling at an early age which gave her many opportunities to travel around the world. Having been Miss Arkansas Teen USA 2013, Abby made history when she was crowned Miss Arkansas USA 2016 as the first woman in 20 years to hold both titles.

In addition to numerous modeling jobs, she has also appeared on the hit TV show Nashville. Abby has been a fierce competitor in the horse show industry, winning several major shows as well as capturing a world champion title.

After losing both her grandmothers to cancer, and with her Dad being a cancer survivor, Abby was thrilled to be asked to work on several events with the American Association for Cancer Research.

She hopes to spread awareness of cancer while honoring her grandmothers. Abby plans to combine her on-camera experience with her real estate license to host her own Emmy Award-winning show on HGTV someday.
