This past weekend I had the opportunity to watch the beautiful ladies of Nevada compete for the coveted title of Miss Nevada USA 2016.
Winning this years Miss Nevada USA 2016 crown is Emelina Adams (Henderson). Emelina will compete alongside 50 other young ladies from across the country for the title of Miss USA 2016.

Katherine Haik is athletic, artistic and academic. Katherine loves playing sports; she has been playing softball for 11 years and basketball for eight years. Dance is also very important to Katherine, she has been dancing for 12 years and is on The Dancer's Edge competition team and her high school dance team.
Katherine was inspired by her grandmother to become an artist and pianist. She is in talented art at her high school and has been playing the piano for five years. Since Katherine began modeling she has participated in New Orleans Fashion Week for four seasons, modeled for Sherri Hill, was featured in an editorial in Scene Magazine and has done print work for many designers.
Although Katherine is very involved in a variety of activities, academics always come first. She has maintained a 4.0 GPA and is very involved in Beta Club. Rebecca Dunn is an anchor for Newsy.com and is seen nationally on TV and online. Rebecca graduated in May 2014 from the University of Missouri with a degree in Communication Science and Disorders, where she was a Dean's List scholar. During her time as an undergrad she founded a mentorship program called 'Mizzou for You' to help peers who have special needs transition from high school to the ‘real world'. Rebecca is well-traveled and hopes her adventures continue. She has studied abroad in Europe and went on a mission trip to Africa where she visited orphanages in Kenya and Malawi.
Rebecca is passionate about orphan care and hopes to make orphanages less of a process and more of a home in the future. Rebecca recently created a YouTube channel and video blog called “Huddle Up” because at the end of the day, we’re all on the same team. Renee Wronecki is a twenty-two-year old born and raised in the Chicago area. She is the first-generation in her family to become an American citizen. Renee can speak Polish and has attended Polish school as a child. After high school, Renee dealt with shocking news when she and her mother were both diagnosed with skin cancer. From that moment on, Renee has been committed to being the best she can be. She has studied nutrition and attained a passion for fitness.
After changing their lifestyles, Renee and her mother are both cancer free today. Renee considers this a blessing because she found true joy in fitness and health. Renee is the middle child of three. The charity closest to her heart is Autism-Speaks due to her little brother having autism. Renee works in marketing and plans to continue her education in the fall at Lindenwood University. Leah Blefko is a student at the University of Arkansas where she double majors in Broadcast Journalism and Sports Management. Leah is proud to work for the Razorback football team and the Razorback Sports Network as she thinks of herself as the "Hogs #1 Fan." Leah has the travel bug, and has explored places like Greece, The U.S. Virgin Islands, and many more. Leah is a hot sauce junkie and always asks for a bottle of hot sauce for her meal at every restaurant.
Staying active and finding news ways to work out is something she has always loved to do. In the past two years she has picked up boxing as she gets an adrenaline from the workout and feels like she's in the movie "Rocky". It's no secret that this girl loves sports-- one time Leah drove a total of 9 hours within a 15-hour time span to cheer on her favorite MLB team, the Royals, during the World Series.

Alexis Selena Railsback was born on September 8, 1995 in Overland Park, Kansas. She has a fraternal twin sister named Ashley, and a 17-year-old brother named Jordan. She grew up in Shawnee, Kansas where she lives now. She graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School in 2014. She is a freshman at Johnson County Community College where she plans to obtain her Associate of Arts Degree. She plans to graduate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, and to attend Cosmetology school to become a licensed makeup artist.
Alexis' dream job is to travel the world working as a professional makeup artist in the entertainment and fashion industry and to create her own line of cosmetics one day. Alexis is third-generation Mexican-American from her mother and of German descent from her father.
