During the Miss Utah USA and Miss Utah Teen USA 2014 pageant weekend, I had the opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look with the staff and contestants including a few interviews.
Immediately after being crowned the new Miss Utah USA 2014, Angelia Layton spoke to Miss Utah USA 2013, Marissa Powell about her win.

In 2 weeks, the state of Texas will witness over 100 young ladies from across the Lone Star state compete for the coveted title of Miss Texas USA 2014.
Each year I have the amazing opportunity to attend the Miss Texas USA pageant, however last year was the first to capture what happens behind-the-scenes at one of the country's more closely followed state pageant.
Below is a short video giving you a glimpse of last year's Miss Texas USA pageant.

Alexandria Nichole "Ali" Nugent became a titleholder when she was only 18 months old, when her mom entered her into her first just-for-fun pageant. It was there that she won the title of “Miss Gingerbread.”
Ali is currently a graduate of Highland Park High School in Dallas, and is currently majoring in Marketing/Entrepreneurship at Collin College in Frisco. Her hobbies include spending time with her large family, including 15 aunts, 15 uncles, and 43 cousins.
She also loves traveling, soccer, hockey, basketball, tennis, volleyball, cheerleading and figure skating. She has modeled extensively and worked with a variety of charities including Best Buddies, Kids Matter International, Clothe the Child and Terra Biotech's One-2-One. Shannon McAnally is a 2009 graduate of the University of North Texas with a BBA in Marketing. She is a 24-year-old licensed general contractor with her family's commercial construction company, MCC and Associates, Inc., and serves as the Marketing Director and a co owner.
Shannon has a strong passion for music, the arts, and enjoys working with various non-profit organizations including the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and the American Heart Association.
She loves spending time with family and friends, keeps up with current music, visiting museums, traveling, and managing her personal web site she designed and created herself.Shannon has been competing in pageants for ten years, with MISS VIRGINIA USA as her 18th competition.

Makenzie Muse graduated from Yukon High School and now live in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where she is a junior at Oklahoma State University. She majors in elementary education, hoping to be a positive impact on children some day.
Miss Oklahoma USA was Mackenzie’s first and only pageant. With only two months under her belt as a titleholder, she has accomplished a lot. Her achievements include volunteering at the Special Olympics dance and making numerous appearances at schools and after school programs.
