This past weekend I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Miss Nevada USA 2013 pageant in Las Vegas...and join the contestants, titleholders, sponsors, and staff as they prepared for the last Miss USA state preliminary pageant for 2013.
Again, I was treated to an "all-access backstage pass" to cover the pageant and show everyone what many don't get to see at a pageant.
It was at this very same pageant last year when it all began...and since then I've been able to keep everyone plugged in with what's going on behind-the-scenes with live photos and updates over Twitter at other pageants across the country!
But in case you missed it...
...I've included a gallery below with the photos and captions of events happening LIVE during the entire weekend including the rehearsals, contestants' night out, preliminaries, finals and of course crowning the the new Miss Nevada USA 2013 - Chelsea Caswell and Miss Nevada Teen USA 2013 - Amanda Jenkins.
Thanks again to Shanna Moakler for yet another amazing pageant weekend in Las Vegas, and to the wonderful contestants, titleholders, staff, and friends that made this visit an exciting and memorable experience!
And keep following me on Twitter at @thePageantGuy so you can join us behind-the-scenes at the next pageant!

Words written by a friend of Rachel Massie:
"It has been so rewarding watching her start her career and work so hard at accomplishing her goals. Not only is she a stunning young lady, she is a shining diamond inside with a heart of gold. I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the new year than with the success of my girl!!
Never give up on your dream no matter how hard the path may seem. Life is not always easy but when you put your heart and soul into it, you go far."
First time ever as a contestant. First time ever on a stage...Winner!
Could her second time on a stage and as a contestant result in being the second ever Miss USA from Arizona?
Stay tuned to Rachel's journey to the crown at @RealMissAZUSA

53 contestants. 1 title.
On January 12, 2013, 1 lucky young lady will take her walk as Miss America 2013.
The odds are that a preliminary award winner has a better chance to take home the Miss America crown, but will a non-preliminary award winner come out on top?
We took this question to the fans and polled their prediction on who will be crowned the next Miss America 2013.
Hundreds of votes were submitted and here are the results of the Miss America 2013 - Prediction Poll.

Ali was the Lifestyle & Fitness winner on Night One of preliminaries. If Ali does win, this would first time since the inception of Miss America's Outstanding Teen in 2005 that both Miss America and Miss America's Outstanding Teen would come from the same state.
We weren't the only ones that have Ali as the front runner for Miss America 2013. In a recent article, Johhny Avello, Director of Race and Sports Operations for the Wynn and Encore has Ali Rogers as the odds on favorite to win at 8-to-1.
In case you are wondering, it's illegal in Las Vegas to bet on the Miss America pageant, but for entertainment purposes here are the remaining contestants and their odds to win:
Miss Oklahoma (Alicia Clifton, 10-1), Miss Wyoming (Lexie Madden, 12-1), Miss Kentucky (Jessica Casebolt, 13-1) and Miss Minnesota (Siri Freeh, 15-1), Miss Missouri (Tippe Emmott, 16-1), Miss Kansas (Sloane Lewis, 18-1) Miss Maryland (Joanna Guy, 20-1), Miss Florida (Laura McKeeman, 22-1) and Miss Arkansas (Sloane Roberts, 24-1).
From the Miss Texas Organization website:
"DaNae graduated with distinction from Baylor Universitys Honors College with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Public Relations. After graduation, she began pursuing her Doctor of Jurisprudence at Texas Tech University School of Law where she is in her third year.
DaNaes personal platform is Hope for Family Recovery: Life Beyond Addiction. Her platforms message is to educate people on the signs of alcoholism and addiction and encourage family members of addicts that they are not alone.
DaNae is also the spokesperson for the Unconscious Truth: The Legal and Physical Effects of Binge Drinking that educates students and parents on the signs and consequences of binge drinking.
DaNae is the recipient of numerous state, regional, and national twirling titles and was the Feature Twirler for Baylor Universitys Golden Wave Marching Band! She has also performed in two Disney parades and at the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium."
