Every year, I've been fortunate and thankful to have the opportunity to attend the Miss Texas Teen USA pageant, held this past weekend at the Hilton Post Oak in Houston, TX.

Last month, I shared with you LIVE behind-the-scenes photos and updates over Twitter from Miss Texas USA 2013...and well it's only fitting that I do the same for the Miss Texas Teen USA 2013 pageant.

Even if you watched the live stream OR sat in the audience watching the pageant, these photos will give you an added glimpse of what happens inside closed rehearsals and backstage...moments before you witness the final product on stage.

And if you were sitting in the very last row in the audience, like my friends Hannah and Rachel, hopefully my Twitter feed kept you somewhat entertained 😛

So here it is again if you missed it......

......I've included a gallery below with the photos and captions of events happening LIVE during the entire weekend (orientation, rehearsals, preliminaries, finals backstage, and of course crowning the the new Miss Texas Teen USA 2013!). VIDEO: Miss Virginia USA 2013 crowning

So if you missed the Miss Virginia USA 2013 pageant webcast, had a bad connection, or missed the pageant altogether, below is a not-so-professional video of the Miss Virginia USA 2013 crowning (and no I wasn't filming it lol).

You can't see the contestants reaction, the footage is out of focus, and the video is super shaky...pretty much this video stinks...haha

But it's real video with real emotion, much like the ones you or your family have taken when your girl wins...which makes it all the more glorious 🙂

You can follow the new Miss Virginia USA 2013 - Shannon McAnally and her journey on Twitter at @MissVAusa2013

VIDEO: Rachel Wyatt – Miss America’s Outstanding Teen 2013

On August 18, 2012, Miss South Carolina's Outstanding Teen 2012, Rachel Wyatt, became the eighth Miss America's Outstanding Teen.

Wyatt won more than $25,000 in college scholarships and the title of Miss America's Outstanding Teen 2013.

This historic crowning moment marked her first steps on a journey that will take her across the country promoting scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, community involvement and healthy living for our nation's youth. She won the hearts of the audience and judges when she performed a lyrical dance to The Climb.

Rachel will be starting her senior year at Wren High School and serves as the President of her class, yearbook editor and member of the National Honor Society. In addition, she will be traveling the country speaking to audiences about her platform Dance Therapy – Miracles through Movement and acting as the teen ambassador for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children's hospitals, is the national platform of the Miss America's Outstanding Teen Organization.

Rachel is one quarter Japanese and comes from a diverse family background. She enjoys sewing and fashion design. She has trained under famous dance choreographers such as Mandy Moore, Mia Michaels and Sonya Tayeh. Rachel assists in teaching a special needs dance class and has danced as part of a Bible teaching ministry at a maximum security women's prison.

She hopes to obtain a Bachelor's degree in English and pursue a career in speech therapy. Rachel would also like to continue dancing in local theater productions and be a dance instructor. (Bio taken from MAOTeen.org)

ARTICLE: Angie Layton – Survivor: Philippines

Angie's words during her initial interview before competing for Survivor: Philippines:

"After competing at Miss Teen USA, it has honestly helped me believe in myself more and I feel like I can do anything I set my mind to. I've had to compete against cut-throat girls, and I think in this game there are cut-throat people...I think that will really help me."

I recently had the opportunity to chat with Angie Layton. Here is our interview...

Will: How did you get involved with pageants?
Angie: When I was 14, I competed in a local pageant in my town that was called Miss Independence -- like Miss 4th of July -- and all the girls in ninth grade do it...and I went and did that and I won! From there, I wanted to do try a larger pageant, so I competed in Miss Utah Teen USA 2010 and I won in my first year!

Will: What's tougher, preparing for Miss Teen USA or preparing for Survivor: Philippines?
Angie: It depends, both are very hard. They are both so different. It's really hard to compare. Going into the pageant you have to mentally know that you can win and that you are the best to win that title. And going into Survivor, you have to mentally know that you can survive...that you can be away from your family and away from your friends...and know that you'll be OK and survive the elements.

Will: What made you audition for Survivor: Philippines?
Angie: I really wanted to do the challenges. When I would watch the challenges my adrenaline would start pumping and it made me want to do them! It looked so awesome.  Having to wear no makeup or fix my hair, I wanted people to see that side of me. The side that everyone usually sees is competing in a pageant or modeling, and I wanted people to see that I'm not just a pageant girl or model, that I can do it all.

Will: You weren't the only pageant contestant competing on Survivor...did you have a chance to interact with Katie Hanson - Miss Delaware USA 2011?
Angie: No, I didn't get to. But during the challenges we smiled at each other 🙂

Will: If you had a second chance how would you play the game differently?
Angie: I would love a second chance! I would probably play a bit smarter...perform better in challenges. And always know what is going on around camp....that was one thing that I wasn't quite sure about. I never knew that Russell was looking for the idol, I didnt know that Roxy was talking crap about me. Things like that I would be more aware of next time, and I would play it more strategically that way.

Will: They hinted during the show that you had some chemistry with Malcolm, is there any love interest there?
Angie: Love interest?! Haha, no were just really close friends. He's a great guy. It was cold so we cuddled for mutual warmth. He saved my life, I thank him for that! But no, we are just really good friends.

Will: After Survivor: Philippines, what is the next step for you?
Angie: This year I'll continue to model. I model for Sheri Hill quite a bit. Next year I will compete for Miss Utah USA. Winning Miss Utah USA next year is my next goal!

Unfortunately Angie, was voted off Survivor: Philippines on Week 3, but look out for her next year as she competes for the crown of Miss Utah USA!
